On September 10 and 11, 2015, peasant movements, social organizations, trade unions, and representatives of universities from Brazil, the United States, Germany, and Paraguay participated in the workshop entitled “The Industrial Meat Chain”, held in Rio de Janeiro. The workshop was built based on the observation that the meat industry intensifies corporate power, has major impacts on the lives of small producers, and is going through structural changes. The implications of these changes are not yet fully understood. This publicationis based on the debates held during the twoday event. We hope it will serve to strengthen the actions discussed during the workshop, especially those related to communication and coordination among participant organizations, and to further discussions on agribusiness in Brazil and its implications for social movements and their processes of resistance.
